This is how others describe the communication style of Dr. Gail Hayes.
When looking for a writer and storyteller who ignites the hearts and minds of children and adults alike, you have but to look directly at Dr. Gail Hayes or Dr. Gail, as others affectionately call her. A gifted and much sought after communicator, she grew up as the oldest of seven children and became the official storyteller of her family, writing and publishing her first book at age 11. The book won the sixth grade writing contest and ignited a passion in her life for stories, story telling, and communication that continues today.
Working with her partners in character education and fun, Locket & Pocket Socket™ Dr. Gail uses stories that delight, activities that teach, and gifts that bring smiles to children and their parents in schools and organizations across the nation. She have appeared with PBS stars Lionel from Between the Lions and Mr. McFeely from Mister Rogers Neighborhood. They have also been a special guest of UNC-TV (the University of North Carolina’s Public Education Television) at the North Carolina State Fair where they spoke to children from across the state. Dr. Gail is also a judge for the NC Young Writers and Illustrators Contest (Reading Rainbow) and has trained educators from across the nation in character education.
Dr. Gail is the author of several books including The Did You Know? Journal and CD series for Children, Power Parenting, 50 Things to do with Your Daughter, 50 More Things to do with Your Daughter, and Cruchety– Crunch and Other Season Sounds Collection. She is also a contributing writer for several publications, including regional parenting magazines.
Dr. Gail is the creator of the Locket & Pocket Socket™ Character Education Program, the Don’t Give Your Power Away & the Powerful, Awesome, Intelligent Communicators Programs for children, and the Precious! Pretty! Powerful! Girl’s Book Clubs.
Dr. Gail and her family currently live in Durham, NC.
